Black Eyed Peas Fergie wows Glastonbury in hip-baring playsuit with daring cutouts

It seems Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie didn't get the brief for famously laid-back Glastonbury as she rocked up in an eye-catching cut-out playsuit and high heels.

The singer, who performed with her band on the last night of the festival, looked every inch the hip hop diva as she belted out her tunes in the ensemble, which included a black leather corseted top with a revealing bottom half.

Fergie, who is known for having one of the most toned body's in pop, was clearly intent not to be be upstaged by her band's elaborate stage, which was decked out with a giant TV screen doubling as a staircase, DJ booth and bandstand.

  • Glastonbury: Jo Whiley's wellies, £250 at Jimmy Choo (wonder if they went on expenses?)

As the band came onstage, a series of green lasers shone out over the audience.

They then launched into their hit Let's Get It Started, to huge cheers from excited fans.

However, some of the crowd booed when Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.Am asked, 'What's up, London?' at the Somerset venue several times.

The band, who performed on the Jazz World Stage at the festival, also paid lengthy tribute to Michael Jackson, who died on June 25, during their headline set.

Also wowing the crowd yesterday was Welsh singing legend Tom Jones, who performed on the Pyramid stage.

Tom greeted the audience, saying: We love you Glastonbury, God bless you, before delivering a set of old favourites like Delilah and It's Not Unusual for Sunday afternoon's legendary heritage slot.

He also did his trademark cover versions Kiss and Sex Bomb, and did an encore with a cover of Unbelievable by '90s electro-rockers EMF.

But rounding off the festival yesterday, its final day, was Blur frontman Damon Albarn.

He and his Brit pop band brought down the curtain as the final headline act.

They played a set of hits at their first Glastonbury gig since they topped the bill at the Somerset show in 1998.

The emotions of the eagerly awaited reunion got to Damon when he broke down on stage.

Closing the final night of the festival, the singer held his head in his hands as he wept during the set.

However, he soon recovered and finished a raucous set that included an appearance on stage from actor Phil Daniels to narrate on their chart hit Parklife.

'It seems like there's been a really, really positive atmosphere here,' Albarn told the crowd.

The four-day festival also saw headlining slots by Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen, whose set ended up costing organiser Michael Eavis £3,000.

The Boss, who wowed the 137,000-strong crowd, ran nine minutes over time, landing Eavis with a council fine.

But he said it was worth it and added: 'It’s not a lot of money — come on, the last nine minutes were absolutely spectacular. He did a hell of a show. What energy that chap’s got! It’s probably the best show he’s done in his life.'
